VISIBLE IMAGE....MY FRIDAY DESIGN TEAM POST...

Hello lovelies,

Well, it's here again...Friday!

So, of course that mean's that I am here again with a VISIBLE IMAGE  design team project to show you.

Visible Image Blog Badge, Blinkie

I absolutely love stamping, and this week I was feeling particularly arty! So I decided to get a little bit inky and messy.

I have made a card, but I wanted to add some heat embossing and also work with utee on this project.

To make this card I have used the FREE YOUR IMAGINATION stamp set which you can be taken to by clicking on the link.

The rest of the materials needed are...

Kraft card blank 8x8 ~ Watercolour card ~ Acrylic paints ~ Distress Inks Brushed Corduroy, Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, Fired Brick, Walnut Stain ~ Blending Tool ~ Distress Embossing Ink ~ Stampbord ~ Wow Embossing Powder Pearlescent Copper Pearl Regular ~ Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel Clear ~ Ribbons ~ Feathers ~ Fibres ~ Tim Holtz Dies Tattered Leaves, Tattered Florals ~ Tim Holtz Finding Cog & Brad.

To make this card...

Randomly use the Acrylic paints to paint the watercolour card to create the background. Leave to dry. When dry use the feathers from the stamp set, the ink splats and the bird with the Fired Brick Distress Ink to stamp over the painted card. Use tape to stick this to the card blank.

Use the distress inks and blending tool to apply colour to the stampbord. Make a hole in each of the oblong pieces at the top. Use Fired Brick and the small feather on the square stampbord, the ink splats on the others. Use the embossing ink around the edges and the embossing powder to add a metallic look. This is very random so don't worry too much if some powder goes astray. Then cover all three stampbord pieces with UTEE. I added three layers to each one. Thread fibres through the holes then glue to the card as shown. Tuck a couple of feathers behind the centre square of stampbord.

Die cut white card using the Tattered leaves and florals dies. Ink with the distress inks, stamp the words over the flowers, add a cog and brad to the centre and attach as shown.

Attach co-ordinating ribbon across the bottom and add a bow to the centre.

Stamp the 'Free Your Imagination' onto some left over painted watercolour card and use silicon glue to fix just below the decorative stampbord panels.

I really enjoyed making this project, it was nice to get a inky and messy...even if I did get powder everywhere lol.

VISIBLE IMAGE - MY FRIDAY DESIGN TEAM POST...

Hello lovelies,

Well another Friday has come round again. Wow the time is flying by!

I have another VISIBLE IMAGE design team creation to share with you this week. Now I absolutely love reading and although I do have a Kindle I still love reading a 'proper' book! So, with this in mind and with the book I am reading being full of history and love I thought I would make a bookmark to reflect Immortal Love!

I had to bling it up a bit with a little sparkle too as thats just me lol....

The stamps I have used for my Bookmark are...

You can buy these from VISIBLE IMAGE to be taken directly to the stamps I have used just click on the names of them above.

Visible Image Blog Badge, Blinkie

Other materials I have used are...

Distress Inks: Scattered Straw ~ Shabby Shutters ~ Spiced Marmalade ~ Frayed Burlap ~ Dusty Concord
Distress Stickles: Antique Linen ~ Frayed Burlap ~ Vintage Photo
Kraft card
Tim Holtz Embossing Folders: Cracked ~ Rays
Glossy Accents
Fibres
Parchment Paper
Ornate Snap
Ornate Brad
Silicon Glue

How I made my Bookmark...

Using the Kraft card cut a large tag shape to create the base. Punch a hole at the top. Stamp the Grunge Flourish along the bottom using Scattered Straw and Shabby Shutters. I over stamped 3 times. Stamp the 'Love' and 'is forever' directly over the first stamped section using Frayed Burlap.

Put the bookmark in the 'Rays' embossing folder, making sure its just above the 'Love' word. Run through your machine.
Stamp the 'Barbed Wire' from the 'Immortal Love' set, and apply Distress Stickles on the Rays. Leave to dry.
Add fibres through the hole at the top and then add the Ornate snap.

Using the Distress Stickles run each of the colours around the edges, spread around a little using a cotton bud. When dry, apply Glossy accents over the wording. Set aside to dry.

In the meantime stamp five of the small rose from the 'Immortal Love' stamp set onto the parchment paper, making sure you use a different colour for each one. Stamp the immortal on to parchment paper and cut all these elements out. Run these through the 'Cracked' embossing folder and ink over the edges and the top lightly. Put the roses together using an ornate brad. Attach the word using silicon glue and then use the glue to add the flower as shown.

If the card has puckered while drying then just add another piece of card underneath and this will straighten it out.

Now you have seen how I made my bookmark, you might want to make one for yourself. Maybe if youve got a book your reading at the moment you could use this as the theme for your creation!

Don't forget you still have time to enter the VISIBLE IMAGE APRIL CHALLENGE

VISIBLE IMAGE...MY FRIDAY DESIGN TEAM POST...

Hello lovelies and a very happy Friday!
Not only does Friday mean it's nearly the week-end it also means that today is my VISIBLE IMAGE Design Team post.

I wanted to make something for my craft room so I decided to make a

'Butterfly Desk Picture'.

I absolutely love butterflies and they have a very special meaning to me too, so to make a picture was just perfect!

I have used the following stamps to create my project...

You can buy all of these stamps at the VISIBLE IMAGE WEBSITE or to be taken directly to the stamps click on the stamp name above.

Visible Image Blog Badge, Blinkie

Here is my 'Butterfly Picture'...

I used white card to create the picture base and made an arm that I attached at the back to create the easel to make it stand up.

I stamped 3 large butterflies, the smaller butterfly once and the butterfly sentiment once using Memento Ink Tuxedo Black. I coloured them using Letraset Promarker's in shades:
Dusky Rose ~ Antique Pink ~ Carmine ~ Magenta ~ Black (used for edging the sentiment).

I used a quickie glue pen on the body part of the 3 large butterflies and added black flocking powder and black glitter.

I attached black and pink flocked paper to the picture base. I created an acetate frame using a box lid I had kept. The small butterfly has been attached to a pink card base and glued to the frame. I used a wide length of black sparkle ribbon to add some texture and sparkle, then glued the small butterfly frame to this. Finally I added black adhesive stones and the sentiment to finish.

I now have this sat on my desk in my craft room!

Don't forget while your over at the VISIBLE IMAGE WEBSITE to have a really lovely browse around and see all the gorgeous stamps for you to buy! While your visiting why not check out the VISIBLE IMAGE GALLERY for lots of inspiration!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I have made. Now I have made this card not only for my design team creation but also for a crafty friend of mine who won a little competition I had in my group. Steve got to pick the colours I used and he chose Purple and light blue..so Steve if your reading this then this will be on it's way to you!

I have used the following stamps for my card...which I absolutely love and the quality is excellent...

You can buy all of these stamps at the VISIBLE IMAGE WEBSITE or to be taken directly to the stamps click on the stamp name above.

Here is my card...

I have used Distress Ink Dusty Concord to stamp the Grunge Flourish around the edges. I attached a length of spiders web across the bottom and also tied a knot in some and attached it to the centre. I added a couple of embellishment's underneath.

Edward is coloured with Letraset Promarker's in shades:
Skin: Putty ~ Dusky Pink ~ Sunkissed Pink
Hair: Cool Grey 4 ~ Cool Grey 5 ~ Black ~ Purple
Clothes & Outline: Purple ~ Amethyst ~ Pastel Blue ~ Denim Blue ~ Powder Blue ~ Warm Grey 2
I added a little touch of sparkle to his eyebrows and eyes by colouring with a Sakura gelly roll pen in Black Sparkle.

I have coloured his hair so it looks like what we call in the trade as 'dip dyed' lol so the ends of the hair are just purple!
